New Nexus 6 has 5.92-inch screen

We are getting closer to a new Nexus phone launch and this should come at the same time as the debut of Android L software. Can one really expect the next Nexus to have a screen that is close to 6 inches in size.

We are nearing to the month of October and leaks and expectations are going crazy regarding the next Google Nexus phone. It’s been noted repeatedly that Motorola got approval regarding building this years Nexus and Shamu is the codename of the handset.

It was said by 9to5 Google that all of the detailed specifications for the phone, which could be titled the Nexus X and not the Nexus 6. According to the site, it confirms much of what we’d heard prior: 2560 x 1440 resolution, 13 megapixel camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, and 3 GB of memory.

It doesn’t make sense to me as to why Google would work with a hardware partner on a phone with 32-bit processor when the software is the first 64-bit version of Android. The conclusion that I have come to is that Qualcomm’s 64-bit chips, the Snapdragon 808 and 810, won’t be available in large quantities in time for when Google wants to debut Android L and a new Nexus smartphone.

A scaled up Moto X is what the handset looks like according to 9to5, this is due to having the same rounded feature at the back. This is a style that appeals to me because I was a big fan of last year’s original Moto X, but it may lose its appeal when getting made.

The reason the Moto X was appealing last year was due the small size for a phone with a close to 5 inch display. Motorola carried out an outstanding job in keeping the size of the phone small. This is a hard task for a phone with a display of 6-inches diagonally. If this is the case and the Nexus really does have a close to 6 inch display, I think most buyers will prefer this year’s Moto X with 5.2-inch screen, especially if Motorola continues to take out updates of Android almost as swiftly as Google does.
